Homer Calloway is the owner of Hull Bay Diving and the primary dive instructor. Homer has been a dive instructor on St Thomas for over 26 years and has done over 25,000 Discover Dives during that time, more than any other instructor on St Thomas!
Homer worked with a well known Dive shop here for years , until they decided to hook up with the Cruise Ship Lines “Cattle Boat Approach”. Homer felt so strongly that for Safety and Enjoyment, dive groups should be kept small with one on one instruction that he left.

DISCOVER DIVING AT HULL BAY

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Professional in "swimming pool-like conditions".
The excursion is in two sessions, first with the help of a flip chart, we will explain to you a certain amount of theory and we will make sure that you understand the important rules of diving. The lesson will be short and concise, designed to inform you but not to confuse you.
After the theory and before starting the real 40-ft dive, you will practice waist deep in near pool-like conditions along the shore. You will hand feed the fish as you embark on your guided dive through the coral reef. Your air gauge will be carefully monitored, to ensure that you don't get low on air. The dive will last about 40 minutes, depending on your comfort level. You will be surprised by how quickly you will relax!
The whole tour is about 2 1/2 hours, not including travel time of about 30 minutes each way, or about 3 1/2 hours total
GUIDED SHORE DIVING AT HULL BAY

This diving experience is a guided tour of one of the two reef systems right from the beach, with virtually no swim to either reef. Many of our divers tell us it is as good as - if not better than - many boat dives and it is much cheaper! We guarantee small groups and personal service!
The maximum depth of our beach dives is 55 ft. There is a great selection of reef fish at both reefs. It's a perfect spot for newly certified divers or divers that are a little rusty.
If one of your group is doing the “discover diving excursion” you may dive with them, but your dive will be limited to the shallower 40’ reef.

This is our Diving version of our “Almost Famous” St Thomas Excursions Guided Kayak Snorkel and Island Tour! If part of your group are divers and the others aren’t, this is the excursion for you!
There will be a certified dive master on all dive trips as well as a snorkel master for the snorkelers, and we will never mix divers with snorkelers unless it is with your group. When we reach the shallower snorkel spot, the divers continue on for deeper water! unless the snorkelers would prefer to snorkel over top of the divers for a great experience !
